Meet the Team

Dr. Austin Sadiq Okoh (CEO)
#

Dr. Okoh is the CEO of CarbonFree Africa Network. He is an energy and climate change research leader with 30 years of experience in the field. His past work includes the development and dissemination of high level institutional technical reports, climate governance/net-zero and energy transition/GHG accounting/capacity building expert.

Noel Casserly
#

Noel worked for many years with the Irish Government in the areas of environment, climate change and sustainable development. He led the Irish delegation at UN international negotiations

on climate change (UNFCCC) between 2010 and 2013. Previously he was Director of Ireland’s National Council for Sustainable Development (Comhar SDC). Noel has also worked as a consultant on Climate Finance to Irish Aid, at the Department of Foreign affairs, and is on the UN roster of national experts for climate change, as nominated by the Irish government. He is the founder of SmartEarth an international consultancy on Climate Action and Sustainability.

Dr Anthony Anuforom

Dr Anthony Anuforom Executive Chairman/CEOExecutive Chairman/CEO Global Environmental Services & Weather Solutions Ltd. He was former Director General/CEO, NiMet & Permanent Representative of Nigeria with WMO (2007 to 2017).

Dr. Samir Tantawi

Dr. Samir Tantawi is a qualified climate change consultant with over 27 years of professional experience in climate change planning and strategizing, he has Ph.D., Master, and Diploma degrees in climate change vulnerability & adaptation assessment and modelling and a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics. Between 2002 and 2013.

Allan Schwartz
#

Allan Schwartz established Mezimbite Forest Centre, almost 30 years ago, training and empowering indigenous people to become the producers of heirloom quality furniture, household goods and accessories, as an alternative to just logging and exporting noble hardwood raw.

This was linked to the building of a culture of putting back what you take and the establishment of the first Indigenous Specie Nurseries since the end of the war. Allan has researched, tested and successfully implemented community based reforestation techniques particular to our dry tropical environment and culture. These have evolved into family sector based Organic Regenerative Agroforestry. His pioneering work has earned many accolades, including being elected an Ashoka Fellow, Beautiful Soul Africa Fellow, and he now shares his experience by consulting and teaching internationally. Regularly cited as a climate change leader and most recently listed at COP 26 amongst the 25 most important Climate Change Warriors in the world.

Prof. John Osonwa

Prof. John Osonwa is a U.S. trained Climate Change, Environmental and Renewable Energy Expert with 25 years experience. He has served as Adjunct Professor globally, most recently at the University of Abuja. Prof. John Osonwa is a Consultant to the United Nations (UN) and the National Assembly of Nigeria.

Dr Eyene Okpanachi

Dr Eyene Okpanachi is a Marie Curie Research Fellow at University of South Wales, UK. His area of specialization is climate change policy, energy transition and natural resources governance. His interest is politics of institutional reforms and sustainable economic development and livelihoods.

Dr. Engr. Janet Adeyemi

Dr. Engr. Janet Adeyemi, is the founder and national President of Women in Mining (WIM). She is a specialist in ESG, Gender, Extractive, Renewable Energy, climate change and Innovation. Her post degree experience span over 40 years in various disciplines which allowed her worked with diverse groups and organizations.

Dr Adeyemi is a recipient of “100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining in 2017” and is a member of council of the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria and also a Fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers.
